Planning if and when to have a child is important to the health of your family. The CVDHD offers a variety of services, for men and women, to assist you in family planning.
COUNSELING AND EDUCATION ON METHODS OF BIRTH CONTROL
The Cumberland Valley District Health Department provides help in preventing pregnancy. We can provide a physical exam, and have many forms of birth control available for you. You can meet with one of our health care professionals and they can help you to choose the most effective method for you.
We provide all services with the utmost respect for your privacy and confidentiality.
Some of the methods of birth control:
Condoms ; “The Pill”; Spermicidal; Depo-Provera and many others.
We ask that you call your county health department to make an appointment if you would like assistance determining which family planning method will work best for you.
Folic Acid Counseling and Supplementation
The Cumberland Valley District Health Department provides counseling for all women of childbearing age, whether contemplating pregnancy or not, with a goal of decreasing birth defects to the brain and spine.
