HEALTHY START IN CHILD CARE
Healthy Start in Child Care is a program designed to provide comprehensive consultation, guidance, and education to family-centered and licensed day care operators. Specially trained childcare consultants are available for consultation in the areas of injury prevention; nutrition, issues of abuse and neglect, and communicable disease prevention. The consultants are also available to answer questions regarding childhood immunizations.
WHAT IS A CHILD CARE HEALTH CONSULTANT?
Child Care Consultants are health professionals in the local health departments who are available to assist and advise out-of home child care providers regarding health, safety and nutrition issues impacting the quality of child care.
The Cumberland Valley District Health Department can provide a child care health consultant to assist in the promotion of health of children in day care settings.
